Obituary of Roy Leonard Rogerson

ROGERSON – Roy Leonard The Rogerson family sadly announces Roy’s death at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. Roy died unexpectedly after a short illness on Friday April 18, 2014 at the age of 86.. For the past 65 years he has been the devoted and loving husband of Milly ( nee Kotschenreuter). The proud and loving father of Gerry of Sudbury, Mark (Marty) of Callander and Jeff (Linda) of North Bay, he will also be sadly missed by his grandchildren Daniel (Cassie), Meghan (Matthew), Nathan (Heather), Alexandra and Mitchell and his great grand children Connor and Ethan. Predeceased by his parents Archie Rogerson and Eileen Smith (Haigh), Roy is also survived by his sisters Maxine Driver, Pauline Whittaker, Adrienne Newton (Ron), and Joyce Gennoe (Bud), and his brothers Albert Smith (Thersa) and Loyde Rogerson (Louanne). He was predeceased three weeks ago by his sister Amy Gattie. Family was the most important thing to Roy and he loved his immensely. He farmed most of his life in the Callander area. He enjoyed being with his horses and machinery. Talented with his hands Roy could manufacture or repair almost anything. Always looking for a new project he would often replicate things after studying them and making a few notes. Friends may call at Martyn Funeral Home on Monday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9pm. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held in Emmanuel United Church At 11:00am on Tuesday April 22, 2014. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery.
