Eric Crawford will always be one of the nicest people I have ever had the honour of knowing. Having known him since I was 3, our families have had many special moments: riding our horses, going sledding in their yard, and many family get togethers. I always looked forward to picture day from kindergarten through to the end of middle school - I remember he could bring a genuine smile to the faces of even the most camera shy people. I will never forget the time when I was 15 and we went to the park to take photos and he taught me all about how to use my new camera that I was so excited to show him! He could truly make everyone in a room smile. I will be forever greatful to the Crawford family for the support they have provided my family through difficult times and being there during the wonderful times as well. The world needs many more people with a heart like his; may he Rest in Peace.

Eric Crawford has provided me a lifetime LAUGH OUT LOUD moment!
If you've ever heard the song "Werewolves in London", you'd probably remember it. The chorus of the song includes sort of singing/howling Aaahoo! I find the song humorous to begin with but I won't ever be able to listen to that song without LOL (laughing out loud) - because of Eric Crawford!
We worked at Ontario Film Lab together where the radio was always playing over speakers throughout the lab. Anyone who knows Eric realizes he's very professional…. MOST of the time!
One day - "Werewolves in London" was playing over the speakers. Eric walked out from an office while HOWLING out the song. Now, he wasn't JUST howling the song, I mean he was really belting it out. I could see him from the main lab area so he was sort of showing off/making a production out of it.
It all happened fairly quickly - he walked out of the office, through the hallway - suddenly he stopped singing/howling/carrying on and turned RED! A few short seconds later, I see several "suits" from Kodak walk by with the president of our company. Because Eric couldn't see down the hallway as he passed through from the office, he didn't realize that 'big wigs' were in the building and headed our way ;) And they heard him the WHOLE time! I'm sure the 'suits' got as big a laugh out of it as I did ;)
"Werewolves in London"
I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand
Walkin' through the streets of Soho in the rain
He was lookin' for the place called Lee Ho Fooks
Gonna get a big dish of beef chow mein
Aaahoo! Werewolves of London
Aaahoo!
Aaahoo! Werewolves of London
Aaahoo!
Ya hear him howlin' around your kitchen door
Ya better not let him in
Little old lady got mutilated late last night
Werewolves of London again
Aaahoo! Werewolves of London
Aaahoo!
Aaahoo! Werewolves of London
Aaahoo!
He's the hairy, hairy gent, who ran amok in Kent
Lately he's been overheard in Mayfair
You better stay away from him
He'll rip your lungs out Jim
Huh, I'd like to meet his tailor
Aaahoo! Werewolves of London
Aaahoo!
Aaahoo! Werewolves of London
Aaahoo!
Well, I saw Lon Chaney walkin' with the queen
Doin' the werewolves of London
I saw Lon Chaney Jr. walkin' with the queen
Doin' the werewolves of London
I saw a werewolf drinkin' a pina colada at Trader Vic's
And his hair was perfect
Aaahoo! Werewolves of London
Draw blood
Aaahoo! Werewolves of London

Sheila, Ian, Brad and family: We just heard about Eric and we were shocked by the news. Brian and I cannot express how saddened and how sorry we are about his passing. Eric was one of the nicest people we have ever known. He was so friendly, honest, caring, sincere, hard-working and a great family man. Eric definitely had a great sense of humour; I discovered that over the years with our little chit chat and he was so patient with me when things went over my head, as they often do. We would joke about that a lot. He will be dearly missed by so many people. We were so lucky to know him and honoured to call him a friend. Please accept our deepest sympathy and know that we truly care. Joanne and Brian

When I first moved here in 1997, I didn't know many people. I started boarding my horses at the Crawfords and fell in love with the land and their family. Since moving to North Bay, everything that I love is attached to the Crawfords - my horses, my children, my dog, and my fiancee who I met through this incredible couple. We had many celebrations and the most memorable was my 45th birthday at their home and their outdoor winter solstice/New Years parties. I have many fond memories of Eric and Sheila and their family and feel so eternally blessed to have been part of their lives. We will forever hold you in our hearts Eric.

we met Eric this year at karate, but only first spoke to him in sudbury last Saturday. He was extremely friendly with everyone from the club, and especially with our daughter who was competing in her first competition, and was very nervous. I couldn't believe how supportive, and truly genuine he was while trying to ease her fears, and get her excited to compete. We were so appreciative to him for his support and knowledge, and this was for people he had just met, so I can imagine how wonderful he was with his own friends and family. We were extremely saddened to hear of his passing, and are very sorry for your loss. Jason and Dianna Busch

We didn't meet Eric until a couple of days after Sleep Over Rover first opened. It was early morning and we were bringing our husky, Tiquana, for doggie daycare. As we entered the kennel office there sat Eric. He quickly apologized for not standing up to greet us, explaining that because he was such a tall man he did not want to frighten our young dog by looming over Tiq. Whereupon Tiq, a rescue dog who was quite nervous around men, jumped into Eric's lap and wiggled in joy. Tiq was Sheila and Eric's first "customer" at the kennel and he loves them both. It is a testament to their unique connection with canines that both of our rescue dogs took to Eric and Sheila immediately.
