McArthur, William “Bill” Harry: It is with great sadness that the McArthur family announces the peaceful passing of Bill during the evening of April 2nd. Bill was born in Timmins on October 7th, 1940 and spent his early years in Larder Lake. He is survived by his four children - Shannon Bush (Peter) of Nova Scotia, Erin Pavone (Rob) & Steven (Heidi) of North Bay and Jennifer Van Dusseldorp (Jeff) of Kanata. Bill will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren - Emma, Matteo, Joseph, Craig and Megan. Predeceased by his infant sister Joy and survived by his brother Brian (Leonne) of Winnipeg and sister Lynne Ritchie (John) of Calgary. Bill is most remembered as the operator of Thomson Park Shell on Fisher Street where he worked for more than three decades. An accomplished musician, Bill played drums for more than 50 years all over Northern Ontario sharing the stage with countless area musicians. He also excelled as an athlete in hockey, billiards and fastball. His love of sports carried on in his devotion to supporting his son and grandsons. Bill loved spending time at the local arenas and sports fields cheering on his grandchildren. Bill’s family will host a visitation at Martyn Funeral Home on Saturday April 5th from 2-5 pm.
