Obituary of Richard Joseph Bonany

Bonany, Richard Joseph It is with sadness that the brothers and sisters of Richard Bonany announce his death. Richard died at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Thursday Feb. 13th, 2014 in his 77th year. Richard is predeceased by his parents Percival and Jeannette Bonany, his sister Velma and infant brother Conrad. Richard will be sadly missed by his siblings Gerry (Stella), Annette Dunn (Ted, deceased), Dennis (Margaret), Barbara Truchon (Fred), Lynn, Terry, John and Anna Mary Toohey. He will also be missed by several nieces and nephews. Richard began his working career at the ONR at the age of 15 ending 40 years later as manager of financial services. He was “The best boss I ever had!” was stated by many of his employees. Richard loved sports. He especially liked golfing in the early morning hours with his buddy Pat Robinson. He was an avid runner and walker. In his younger days, Richard coached the CYO fastball team, pitched for H.E. Brown Supply and would fill in for the CPR Flyers which was his dad’s hockey team. In his retirement, he gave back to the community by volunteering at the North Bay Food Bank for 17 years. At Richard’s request, there will be no visitation. Family will receive friends and relatives at Holy Name of Jesus Church at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday Feb.18th 2014. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Cremation will be at Forest Lawn Crematorium. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in the spring. If desired, donations to the North Bay Food Bank, Northern Cancer Research or Heart & Stroke Foundation would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
