Obituary of Marlene Evelyn Dufresne

DUFRESNE: Marlene Evelyn Passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 22nd, 2013 at the North Bay Regional Health Centre, at 75 years of age. Marlene (née Mason ) was predeceased by her beloved husband, Maurice Armand Dufresne. She was the loving mother of Debbie Morin (née LeBrasseur) of North Bay, David LeBrasseur and his wife Viviane of Niagara on the Lake, and Michael Dufresne and his wife Kathryn Lagrandeur of Ottawa. She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Stephanie Morin, Jesse LeBrasseur, Corey LeBrasseur, and Sophie Lagrandeur-Dufresne; by her great grand-daughter Sierra Morin-Dobratz; and by her son-in-law Gerard Morin. She was the dear sister of Donald Mason and his wife Gail, and of Brian Mason and his wife Susan. Marlene was predeceased by her parents Phillip and Evelyn Mason and by her siblings Joy McCahery, Phyllis Woito and Cecil Mason. A devout Christian, she had been an active and faithful member of the Lakeshore Missionary Church for over 35 years. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to staff at the renal clinic at the North Bay Regional Health Centre for their kindness; to staff at the Red Cross, especially Helena, for the wonderful care they provided to Marlene; and to residents of Stone Gate II for their support. Marlene’s family will receive friends at the Lakeshore Missionary Church on Friday, January 3rd, for visitation from 10 am until time for a Memorial Service in the Church at 11:00 am. Her ashes will be interred later at All Saints Mausoleum. If desired, donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
