Obituary of Winnifred Almeda Whitney

Whitney - Winnifred Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Friday August 1, 2014 at the age of 77 years. Winnie was predeceased by her beloved husband of 58 years Harold and her son Tom. The cherished mother of Sheila Page (Steve) and Marg McDiarmid (Darren) she was the proud grandmother of Heather Lefebvre (Etienne), James Whitney (Michelle), Kimberly Whitney, Matthew & Jason Page, Whitney, Maddie & Kyle McDiarmid. Sadly missed by her siblings Veletta Hawton and Wilda McKenzie, she was predeceased by her siblings Iva Rawn, Hubert Sayers, Edith Gould and Audrey Everick. Fondly remembered by her sisters in law Kaye Macdonald and Georgeina Williams. Predeceased by her brother in law Donald Whitney. Winnie took great pride in her role as a real estate agent, serving one year as President of the North Bay Real Estate Board. A dedicated wife and mother she loved her family, friends and her beloved pup Daisy with all of her heart. A gifted quilter and seamstress, she loved to knit and play cards. Many thanks to the dedicated staff at the North Bay Regional Health Center for their compassionate care during Mom’s valiant fight over the last three and a half years. Friends may call at MARTYN FUNERAL HOME on Monday August 4th from 11:00 a.m until the time of the service in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. Cremation will take place at Forest Lawn Crematorium.
