Obituary of Kathleen Elizabeth Shields

SHIELDS (nee Andrews): Kathleen Elizabeth "Kay" Beloved wife of the late Robert McIntosh "Bob" Shields, passed away peacefully at Nipissing Manor on September 13th, 2013 in her 90th year. Born in Bruce Station, Ontario to William and Catherine Andrews, Kathleen was the oldest of six children. Kay will be deeply missed by her children Eva Lyn (John Munroe) of Atikokan, Randy of North Bay, and Rick (Rebecca) of Ottawa; granddaughters Kristin, Sarah, Rowan and Andie; sister Jean Grasley (John, deceased) of Bruce Station and brother Bill Andrews (Amy) of MacTier. Kay was predeceased by her sister Wilna Lawrence (Arnold, deceased) and brothers Lawrence Andrews (Lois) and Donald Andrews (Betty). Kay was a beloved teacher with the former Nipissing Public School Board for nearly forty years and an active supporter of many charities and community organizations. Family will receive friends at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME on Thursday, September 19th, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Martyn Funeral Home chapel on Friday, September 20th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
