Obituary of Helen Heasman

HEASMAN - Helen Elizabeth The Heasman family sadly announce Helen's death at Leisureworld Care Giving Center on Monday September 16, one day before her 91st birthday. A long time resident of North Bay Helen was the devoted and loving wife of the late Wm. Leslie "Les" Heasman. He predeceased her in 2006. The proud and loving mother of Wayne and his wife Joanne of New Liskeard and Patti Cooley and her husband Conrad of North Bay, Helen will also be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Kristin Heasman of North Bay; Scott Heasman (Kate) of Fergus and their son Sydney; Kelly Sharp (Joel) of New Liskeard and their daughters Madyson and Jaime; and David Cooley of North Bay and his children Alexis, Abby, Ben and Angie. She was predeceased by her grandson Jonathon Cooley. Helen is also survived by sisters Mildred Leblanc of Quebec City and Beverly Ann Mosher of Rose Bay, Nova Scotia and her brother Raymond. She was predeceased by her siblings Ronald, Florence and Virginia. Helen was born and raised in Rose Bay, Nova Scotia. She and Les met while he was serving in the Armed Forces during the war and settled in North Bay after he returned from overseas. For many years they owned and operated Heasman TV Sales and Service together, retiring in 1982. Family was most important to Helen and she will be remembered as a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was always active in her children's and grandchildren's lives, supporting them in all their endeavors. A funeral service will be held at MARTYN FUNERAL HOME on Saturday, October 5th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in North Bay Union Cemetery. If desired donations to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation or the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation MRI Fund will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy
