Obituary of Cheryl Atkinson

Atkinson (Boettger) - Cheryl Lee Cheryl passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Ctr. on Monday, August 26, 2013 in her 49th year, surrounded by her loving family and friends. The past 22 years have been joyfully shared with her best friend and husband Gary. Predeceased by her father Tom, whom she adored. She was known for her ever present smile, love and laughter which will always be a special memory for her mother Joyce, sister Tracey (Myles McIsaac) and grandmother Avice Cockerline, Cheryl was a special addition to the Atkinson family, Fran (Ross deceased) brothers, sisters and extended family. She will be greatly missed by her many aunts, uncles and cousins. She will be especially missed by her little buddy Michael. Cheryl's determination and spirit touched the lives of many throughout the community, as well as many groups, including Stroke Support, North Bay Cruisers, Sunshine Foundation and Scott Wheeldon (Med Ex Conditioning Clinic) whom was amazed with her perseverance and desire to overcome her physical limitations. We thank all the tremendous support workers (Paramed) whom have helped over the years. We are grateful to the many nurses in CCU, Rehab Floor, Surgical & A1 units. Special Thanks to Dr. Mike Leckie, Dr Darren Saunders, & Dr Singh. Cheryl's family will receive friends at the Martyn Funeral Home on Thursday afternoon and evening from 2- 4 & 7-9pm. A celebration of her life will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00am on Friday August 30. Donations to the March of Dimes - Stroke Support Group or Nipissing Association for Disabled Youth (NADY) will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
