Obituary of Joan McCafferty
Please share a memory of Joan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Joan Alice McCafferty, 57, left us on Tuesday, June 18th with her family by her side at North Bay Regional Health Centre after being diagnosed 11 months ago with terminal brain and lung cancer.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 41 years, Bernie; loving daughters Tara of North Bay and Alyssa of Bracebridge; her son-in-law Earle Paugh of Bracebridge; grandchildren Brooklynn, Autumn, and Hailey; sister Betty and brother Dave of North Bay; Dodie of Toronto, and many relatives and friends.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Grenny of North Bay.
She instilled a confidence in her children to succeed and reach for their goals. Her sense of humour and quiet patience will be forever remembered along with her kind and understanding heart. We would like to thank her palliative care team at NBRHC for the wonderful care and support during this time.
A small service was held for immediate family and close friends at St. Mary's Cemetery on Tuesday, June 25th, 2013.
