NICOLL: Robert (“Bob”) William
Passed away surrounded by family at the North Bay Regional Health Center on Monday, June 10, 2013 at the age of 96. Robert was the beloved husband of the late Georgina “Jo” (nee Finlay) and the late Violet (nee Daulby). Loving father of Margaret White (predeceased by her husband Peter in 2012) of North Bay. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandson Robert (Alison) of Oakville and great granddaughters Elizabeth and Sarah. He will be fondly remembered by his stepsons Les Wilkinson (Linda) of Callander and Clive Wilkinson (Coleen) of Sault Ste Marie, by his step grandchildren Thomas (Kim), Michael (Carrie), Jeffrey (Terri), Paul (Anna) and Christine (Ken) and by his step great grandchildren Tamara, Kaitlynn, Journey, Emily, Lauren, Carys and Zachary. Dearly loved brother of Shirley McGovern (John) of Edmonton. He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Florence Nicoll and by his brother Alan (Margarite). Robert was a lifelong resident of North Bay, where he worked for over 30 years as a Canadian Customs Officer, retiring in 1977. He served with the 407 Squadron overseas during World War II. He had been an active member of the North Bay Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. #617 (a Masonic Memorial Service will be held Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM) and the Calvin Presbyterian Church. Some of his favourite times were those spent walking and caring for his dogs over the years. Visitation will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and at the Calvin Presbyterian Church on Thursday, June 13th from 10 am until time for a Funeral Service in the Sanctuary at 11:00 am. Cremation will follow the Service with interment of ashes in the family plot at the Terrace lawn Cemetery.
