Obituary of Russel Brett Moyer

MOYER: RUSSEL “BUSTY” BRETT - RCAF FLYING OFFICER PILOT – 436 SQUADRON JANUARY 18, 1925 – December 25, 2012 Russ Moyer of Smiths Falls, Ont. passed away on December 25, 2012. He was born and raised in North Bay and was the son of the late Glenarvin Ray Moyer and Alice May Brett. He was predeceased by his wife Irene Marvin Hawley, his brother William (RCAF World War 11), sister Elizabeth, and his daughter Donna Nesbitt (Douglas) of Perth. He is survived by his brothers Don (Jeannie) Edmonton AB, and Alvin (Norma) North Bay Ont. Dear husband of Dianne Joan Goulden also of Smiths Falls, he will be missed by his remaining children Deborah Lawson (Rhett) of Knowlton, PQ, Denise Miall (Greg) of Frankville Ont. and Ray Moyer (Linda) of Carleton Place. He was a wonderful Papa to Keri-Lynn and Kenneth Nesbitt, Jamie and Holly Lawson, Jillian and Russell (Sara) Miall and Mackenzie and Candace Moyer. He also was the great grandfather of Stephanie and Jessica Lamshoeft and Ethan Grenier. Russ served his country during the Korean Crisis and the UN Crisis as a Peace Keeper. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, May 17, in the Martyn Funeral Home in North Bay. Interment will take place at Terrace Lawn.
