Obituary of Helen Muir Middleton

MIDDLETON, Helen Muir – Passed away peacefully, Sunday March 24, 2013 at Cassellholme in her 91st year. Predeceased by her husband Stanley, Lloyd, Middleton in 1993. Born July 21, 1922 in Fife, Scotland to parents Alexander D. Pearson & Kate (Davies) Pearson. The Pearson family emigrated from Scotland in 1929 to settle in Kimberley B.C. Helen was proud mother to Kate, Jim & Joe (Sherry). Grandmother to Jay, Cyndi, and Dayne of North Bay, and Matthew, Emily, Nathan, and Jenna of Novar. Survived by loved brothers Ed, and Joe of Kimberley and cherished sister Phemia Lundahl (Jerry) of Duncan B.C. Predeceased by brothers James, Alex and sister Marion. Helen was honoured to serve with the RCAF from September 1942 to October 1945 and was involved with providing air support to the many convoys of troops & supplies headed for Europe. After the war she worked as a bookkeeper for the T. E. Eaton Co. in Toronto. After raising her family she returned to bookkeeping for small businesses in Markham. Helen spent a great deal of her time travelling Canada and volunteering in many capacities throughout the community. At her request there will be no service. She wished to be cremated and interred at North Bay Union Cemetery. If desired donations to the Alzheimer Society, or Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Helen would be greatly appreciated.
