Obituary of Noreen King

KING (nee Quirt): Noreen Doris July 28, 1929 - January 27, 2013 Passed away peacefully with her children by her side at the North Bay Regional Health Center on Sunday, January 27th , 2013. Noreen was the beloved wife of the late Alvin James "Alvie" King, she was 83 years old. Loving mother of Glenn King of North Bay & his friend Cecile Perron of Sturgeon Falls, Dale King of Toronto & son-in-law John Golding. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Jason and Michael: they all brought a great amount of joy to her life, as did her many nieces and nephews. Dearly loved sister of Preston Quirt, Linda Lindsay and Brenda Duncan. Noreen was the daughter of the late Harry and Edith Quirt and was predeceased by her sister Beth Insley. Noreen and her family worshiped at Calvin Presbyterian Church. She was a long time active member of the Independent Order of the Daughters of the Empire (IODE). Noreen's family would like to thank several people who have contributed to their mother's quality of life at home; close friends Betty Linkie and family, Ted & Kathy Douglas, Gwen McCarthy and Alice Mathieu were always able and willing to lend a helping hand. Our mother received excellent health care over the past years and days, your care and kindness was appreciated and we thank you; Doctors' Leckie, Ng and Daly, CCAC, the North Bay Ambulance Service, the caring and efficient nurses of the Emergency Department and the fabulous Nursing Teams of D-3. Respecting Noreen's wishes there will be no visitation. A Private Graveside Service will be held this spring at the North Bay Union Cemetery.
