Obituary of Mae Ora Trahan

TRAHAN (nee Parent): Mae Passed away at the Algonquin Nursing Home, surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 24, 2012. Mae was the beloved wife of the late Roland Edward “Rollie” Trahan. She was 92 years old. Loving mother of Linda Trahan–Goyer of Ottawa, Jackie Rauh (John) of Sudbury, Diane Dupuis (Ron) of Mattawa and by her daughter-in-law Marie Trahan of Ottawa. She was predeceased by her son Guy and son-in-law Robert Goyer. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Michael (Jeny), Mary Catherine (Chris), Stephanie (Burton), Jason (Tracy), Josee (Marc), Jenna, (Sandy), Jillian (Jacob) and by her eleven great grandchildren. Dearly loved sister of Annette Bellaire, Ruby Fawcett and Peggy Lessard. She was also predeceased by her parents John and Mary Parent and siblings Orval Parent and Betty Lou Nykanen. Mae was a Registered Practical Nurse and worked at the Mattawa Hospital for over 40 years. Her family was her “Life”. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with them. She was a member of St. Anne’s Parish, the CWL, the Mattawa Golden Age and volunteered at the Algonquin Nursing Home. Mae enjoyed playing Bingo and was proud to contribute to life in Mattawa. Her family will receive friends in the Martyn & Sloan “Mattawa Chapel” on Wednesday, from 9:00 – 11:00am. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, November 28th at 11:00 am. Interment of ashes will follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Anne’s Furnace Fund or to the Algonquin Nursing Home would be appreciated. Online condolences at www.martynfh.com
