Obituary of Laurence Chapin

CHAPIN - Laurence Charles "Larry" At his home, and surrounded by his family, Laurence "Larry" died peacefully on Wednesday November 7th, 2012, at the age of 84 years. For the past 61 years he has been the beloved and devoted husband of Margaret M. "Peggy" (nee Hussey). The proud and loving father of Joanne Cole (Curtis) of Toronto, Jim (Nancy Hamlyn) of North Bay and David (Catherine) of Ottawa, he will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Ryan, Christen, Meaghan, Joshua, Melissa, Michelle, Benjamin and Serena. The dear brother of William, (Winnifred deceased) of Toronto, and the late Clifford (Merrible of Toronto), Larry will also be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters in law and his many nieces and nephews in the Hussey and Chapin families. Born and raised in Toronto Larry worked for several years in industry, before joining the Ontario Public Service. He worked in several senior management positions within the Ministry of Health finally moving to the North Bay Psychiatric Hospital. He retired in 1990. A dedicated husband and father he will be sadly missed by his many friends and family. Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home on Friday from 2 -4 & 7 - 9pm. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1:30 pm on Saturday November 10th. Cremation to follow with interment of ashes in the family plot in Wyvale, Ont.
