Obituary of Eva Gladys Winnifred Rose

ROSE – Eva Gladys Winnifred Surrounded by her family and just two weeks after her 90th birthday, Eva died peacefully at the North Bay Regional Hospital on Thursday October 25, 2012. Eva (nee Meeking) was the beloved wife of the late John Rose, who predeceased her in 1998. The proud and loving mother of Ian (Lise) & Paul (Bonnie) both of North Bay, Lynda Rose (Greg Hipson) of Peterborough, and Donna who predeceased her this past January. She will be lovingly remembered by her son in law Ken Wedemire of Calgary, her grandchildren Tammy, Shane, Ian, Jody, Chris, Karen and Winston, and her seven great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her sister Dorothy Phillips also of North Bay. As well as her husband and daughter, Eva was also predeceased by her three brothers and one sister. Born and raised in North Bay Eva and John lived throughout Northern Ontario before returning to North Bay in the late 1990’s. A dedicated wife and mother she will be remembered as an excellent cook and baker who enjoyed Christmas baking and producing unique cakes for special family occasions. She was a gifted and talented knitter making everything from scarfs and mittens to coats. She was a dedicated member of Christ Church Anglican. Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 7 – 9 pm. Rev’d. Marie Loewen will conduct funeral services at Christ Church Anglican (890 Vimy Street) at 1:30pm on Monday October 29 2012. Interment to follow in St. John’s Anglican cemetery. If desired donations to The Heart & Stroke Fund, Canadian Cancer Society, Arthritic Society, or Christ Church Anglican will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
