Obituary of Leslie Gordon Vandusen

VANDUSEN – Leslie Gordon Peacefully at his home, North Bay, on Sunday September 2, 2012. Leslie Vandusen was the beloved husband of the late Gwenna Geraldine (nee VanClieaf), who predeceased him December 20, 2011. The proud and loving father of Murray and his wife Ingrid of Regina, Sask., and Mona and her husband Barry LaFave of Niagara Falls, he will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Kris, Erik, Heidi, Heather and Scott and his great grandchildren Joshua, Reidar, Eva Luna, Alejandra, Erikson, Cody and Liam. He was predeceased by his brothers Harold and Bruce. Les was a third generation railroader, his father and grandfather both long time employees of the Ontario Northland Railway, formerly the Temiskaming & Northern Ontario Railroad. He retired from the ONR in 1988 as an electrician’s helper after 35 years of dedicated service. A devoted husband to Gwen he also enjoyed time spent in the out of doors. Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home on Friday evening from 7 – 9 pm. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday September 8 at 1:00pm. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
