Obituary of Evelyn Vahey - Souliere

VAHEY-SOULIERE: Evelyn Sandra Minor (Larry) and Doreen Backer (Harry) are sad to announce the passing of their mother Evelyn Souliere (nee Tisdale), on February 17th, 2013, at Nipissing Manor. She was born on October 17th, 1919. She was predeceased by her husband Danny Patrick Vahey and a son Roy and by her second husband Art Souliere. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Pam, Rick, Debbie, Jeff, Sharron, Lynn, Dan, Mark and by her many great and great great grandchildren. She always enjoyed a nice cold beer and to watch the ball games out her window in North Bay. Years ago she visited Doreen in Manitoba and her request was to see Wayne Gretzky play in a hockey game. Fortunately Harry and Doreen where able to get her to see him play and Evelyn talked about it for quite some time. She always made sure we had a nice Christmas even when times were not so good, her family always looked forward to her tortière, and they were so so good. Sandra and Doreen would like to thank the staff at Nipissing Manor for their care and concern. Doreen would personally like to thank her sister Sandra for being so good to mom when she couldn't be there. A Memorial Service will be held at Holy Cross Parish (Haileybury) on Saturday, May 18th, 2013 at 11:00 am. Interment of ashes at the Haileybury Holycross Cemetery, she will be laid to rest beside her husband Danny. If desired, donations to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation or the North Bay Humane Society will be gratefully acknowledged as expression of sympathy.
