Obituary of Betty Jean Merrall

It is with great sadness that we tell of the passing of our beloved mother, Betty Jean Merrall, on Wednesday May 9, 2012. Left behind to mourn her are her daughter Linda of North Bay and her son Gary (Cheryl and her son Tyler) of Newmarket. Predeceased by her beloved husband and our father, William (Bill) Merrall, in April 1974. She was born in Goderich, Ontario, on July 3, 1925 to Reginald and Annie Fuller. Predeceased by her brothers Arnold, Maitland and Vernon and her sister Bernice. For driving us back and forth to Sudbury to the Daffodil Lodge, and the love and support they gave to us, we wish to thank Maureen Church and Marlene McCann. As well as the staff of the third floor of Cassellholme, the care they showed to Mom will not be forgotten. She told us many times how much she liked everyone and joked that they must like her a lot as she was treated so well. Thank you as well to Dr. Stemp, for taking care of her and for the times he came to Cassellholme to see her; it meant a lot to her. There will be a visitation for family and friends at Martyn Funeral Home on Friday from 12-2 pm. We request that donations be given to either, the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Alzheimer’s Society in lieu of flowers.
