Obituary of Alan Richard Ackroyd

Passed away peacefully on Monday, November 14, 2011 at the North Bay Regional Health Centre after a courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by his loving children Lyndsey (Chris), Dean (Jessica), Grayson and grandson Ryder Alan Ackroyd, to whom he was a wonderful father and grandfather. Predeceased by his beloved wife Shelley (2008) and his father Raymond Ackroyd (2005). Left to mourn his passing are his mother Lenna Ackroyd, sister Arlene Dool (Ron), brother Ron Ackroyd (Betty) and sister Roslyn Lima (John). “Uncle Al” will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Alan’s many friends and acquaintances will remember him as a kind and gentle man. Family will receive friends at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME on Thursday, November 17, 2011 from 2-4 p.m. and the memorial service will be held in funeral home chapel at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
