James Ross MacLean, age 86, died peacefully at Cassellhome on Wednesday March 9, 2011.He was born in Sutherland’s River, Nova Scotia, to Alexander and Ethel MacLean.Predeceased by his wife Jean Bishop and brother J. Olding.Survived by his devoted sister Margaret Fukes.
Ross was a decorated veteran of the Second World War.He was a member of the North Bay Choral Society and Calvin Persbyterian Church Choir.
Dearly missed by his five children:Judy (Don), Hal (Eunmi), Scott, Susan (Paul), and Sandie, his six grandchildren:Jennifer (Dave), Jon (Renee), Laura, Emma, Taylor, and Anthony, and three great-grandchildren:Jillian, Ryan, and Rowin.Predeceased by son-in-law Don Blahut.
A celebration of Ross’s life will take place at a memorial service this spring.Interment Heatherdale Memorial Gardens, New Glasgow, Nova Scotia.Arrangements entrusted to Martyn Funeral Home.No visitation.Donations to Cassellhome Auxillery, One Kids Place, or Calvin Presbyterian Church will be gratefully acknowledged.
