PACEY, Jill Straith - at the North Bay General Hospital on Sunday, June 7, 2009 at the age of 76. Jill, beloved wife of Allan Roy Pacey for 56 years. Loving mother of Kathryn Ann (Lyle) of High River, AB, Jeffery Allan (Kathryn) of Kanata, William Mark (Debbie) of Espanola, Michael Arnold (Lourdes) of Kingston, and Janet Elizabeth (Martin) of Yellowknife, NT. Cherished grandmother of Matthew, Lacey, Andrew, Danielle, Calder, Jordan, Joshua and Nadia. Sister of Charles Arnold Miller (Dorothy), and Wendy Susan Millar, both of Ottawa. Jill was born in Regina, SA April 30, 1933 to Ruth (Cooke) and Charles Arnold Millar. The family moved to the Ottawa area where she finished school as an exceptional student and later attended the Fashion Design program at Ryerson University. Jill met Allan in Temagami during the summer of 1953 and wed later that fall in Ottawa. They then lived in North Bay, Blind River and Elliott Lake before settling in Espanola for a number of years. Jill and Allan moved to North Bay in 1983 after retiring. Jill was a voracious reader and took great pleasure in genealogy research of the Millar and Pacey families. Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home, 464 Wyld Street, North Bay, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday at 11 am. Cremation at the Forest Lawn Crematorium. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
