BACKER MURIEL
After a brief illness at the Mattawa Hospital on Saturday February 7, 2009 at 92 years of age. Dear wife of the late Reginald Backer. Loving mother of Elizabeth 'Betty' Valade (husband Don, predeceased) and Dan (wife Danielle, predeceased) all of Mattawa. Predeceased by her daughter Joan Reis on January 30, 2009. Sadly missed by 8 grandchildren; Don, Barry, Shelle y, Dean, D'Arcy, Dana, Derek, Adam, Matthew, Michael and Nancy, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Martyn & Sloan 'Mattawa Chapel' on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Anne's Church on Friday at 11 am. If desired donations to St. Anne's Church or the Mattawa Hospital would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
