Obituary of Laura Nora Groves

Died peacefully at Eastholme in Powassan on Sunday September 10, 2017 at the age of 95. Laura was the beloved wife of the late Duncan Groves. Dear mother of Roger Schryer (Sandra) of Barrie, Mark Groves of Timmins, Annette Felskie, Paulette Johnson (Melvin), Laurie Lafontaine (Gilles) all of North Bay and Julie Wilson (Paul) of Blind River, Step-mother to Allen Groves (Sandra) of Beachburg, Hilda (Wally) of Toronto, Brenda (Harley Solman) of North Bay, Dennis Groves of South Carolina and Linda (Tom) of Englehart. Grandmother of 26 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 10 great, great grandchildren. Laura was predeceased by her parents Louis and Josephine Levesque, by her step-son Douglas Groves, siblings Leo, Romeo, Laurin, René, Elsie, Eva, Rita, Therese and by her daughter in law Diane. Friends and family may pay their final respects at the Martyn Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday at 11 am. Cremation will follow with interment of ashes At the Callander Union Cemetery with her husband Duncan.
