Colbert - Barbara (nee Spivey)
On March 4, 2018, in her 71st year, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, slipped away under the loving watch of her husband Arnie, as well as her three devoted sons, Rob (Benjamin), Kevin (Carey) and Chris (Rachelle) and the warmth of her 7 beautiful grandchildren (Tyler, Tracy, Trent, Domenic, Kiley, Addisyn and Jessica). She will be missed by her two sisters (Lynn and Val), nephew and niece, Jeremy and Kyleea, and her faithful dog Shadow. Barb was predeceased by her parents Ron and Doris Spivey. She touched so many lives, naturally lifting the spirits of all she encountered, with her caring nature, kind heart and her loving smile. She was a caregiver by nature, whether with family and friends or, those lives she touched as a nurse. Barb graduated as a Registered Nurse from the St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing. She held various positions throughout her career, retiring as the Head Nurse on the third floor of Cassellholme. Barb created so many special memories with her loved ones through golfing, camping, trips to Florida, cooking and baking, sewing, gardening, of course shopping. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. The family would like to thank Dr. Ng and Dr. McKercher, as well as the professional, caring and loving staff of Eastholme, where she always felt safe and secure. The family will hold a memorial service and celebration of life with family and friends in the early spring. Donations can made to the North Bay Alzheimer’s Society or the Eastholme Residence Council (Powassan). Barb gave with her whole heart and gave with her soul. Our angel will continue to sing and dance in Heaven, while watching over those she loves.
We love you forever.
