Obituary of Rene Laurent Thibert

THIBERT: Rene Passed away at his home in Mattawa on Sunday, October 29th, 2017. Rene Laurent Thibert, was the beloved husband of Mary Pauline (nee Pecore), he was 76 years old. Loving father of Lyle and his wife Sandy of Burlington. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Kyle (Kate) and Brittany (Joe). Dearly loved brother of George (Dale), Frances Whetham both of Mattawa, Susie (Jim Lemon) of Burlington and brother-in-law of Nora. He was predeceased by his parents Philippe and Martha Thibert and by his siblings Tod, Bob, Edna Morin, Randolph, Brian, Syl “Copper”, Jackie Baverstock and Michael. He and Pauline lived in Milton for many years, with Rene working for the Ford Motor Company for 42 years in Oakville. In 2011 they returned home to Mattawa and enjoyed becoming members of the community again. Visitation will be held in at the Martyn & Sloan “Mattawa Chapel” on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9:00 PM. A Memorial Mass in the presences of ashes will be held at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church on Friday, November 3rd at 1:00 P.M. Interment of ashes to follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery. A Reception will follow at the Mattawa Community Centre, please join us! If desired, donations to the Mattawa Hospital – Equipment Fund would be appreciated by his family.
