It is with great sadness and a profound sense of loss that we announce the passing of Constance Madden on June 15, 2017. Connie passed away peacefully in her Bonfield home, where she was being cared for by her loving family. Connie was born in Windsor on July 19th 1941 to parents Harold and Thelma Welch. She was predeceased by the love of her life Keith in 2009. Loving mother of Karen (Paul Cook), Rick and Lisa (Mike Lean). Cherished grandmother of Matthew and Amy Cook, Robert, Brittany, Stephanie and Krystal Cormier. She will be fondly remembered by her brother David Welch (Ena) and sisters Betty St. Andrews (David) and Nora Willerton. Growing up she spent countless summers making memories with friends and family in Sauble Beach. Connie and Keith moved their family to North Bay in 1970. After being employed at Canadore College in a variety of positions starting in 1979 she retired on August 31st, 2002. Connie was a committed volunteer who made a difference in her community. She served as president of the West Ferris Ringette Association, where she also coached many teams; with West Ferris Ladies Rec and more recently, as the treasurer of the North Bay Regional Hospital Volunteer Association, an organization that has raised thousands of dollars to support our local hospital. Connie was an avid athlete growing up and continued to participate in tennis, slo-pitch, bowling, fishing and in a horse shoe league later on in her life. The family would like to thank all of the health care professionals at NBRHC who compassionately cared for Connie over the past several months during her battle with Cancer. Thank you to Dr Richard Trenker. Special heartfelt thanks to good friend, Cindy Giroux, CCAC and Paramed (Stephanie, Jen and April). Words cannot express our gratitude to Dr Terry Rotondo for the many years of outstanding care he has provided to Connie and for his unwavering support during the past several months. Visitation will take place at the Martyn Funeral Home on Saturday June 17th 4-6 p.m. and on Sunday June 18th from 1130 am – 1 pm. A Memorial Service at Martyn’s will immediately follow Sunday’s visitation.
