Obituary of Thelma May Edgar

Thelma May Edgar (Nee Durrell) Thelma passed away at the age of 92 at Corbeil, Ontario on September 22nd, 2017, predeceased by her beloved husband Chuck Edgar. Born Thelma May Durrell, she leaves behind her much loved children Bob (Robin Hayward), Nancy Boody (Ken), John (Claudette) and Scott (partner Linda), her grandchildren, Michelle, Jonathan, Michael, Christina (deceased), Nicholas, Leah, Bradley, Amanda, Allana and Tamara, as well as 12 great-grandchildren and a great-granddaughter, expected in the next few days. Thelma and her husband Chuck owned and operated Northway Cleaners in North Bay for a number of years. In later years, Thelma went on to work as an ambulance dispatcher and then as Secretary to the President of Ontario Northland, wrapping up her career managing the accounts department. As a young woman, Thelma was an avid skier, winning an Eastern Canadian Championship. She was inducted in the North Bay Hall of Fame, along with her brother Jack Durrell. Thelma was a fabulous artist, knitter and baker, loved her sports, particularly golf, and her dear grandchildren. She was a wonderful Nana. She will be missed by all. There will be no visitation at this time. A memorial service may be held at a later date and information will be provided at that time. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada if desired.
