My condolences, Diane, Marni and family. Knowing Hoss was a pleasure because of his smile, his sense of humour, his love of life and adventure. He was rooted in life and loved his family so much. The last time I talked with him which was a while ago, he talked about his family most of the time we were together. He also commented on the joy of riding the back roads of Muskoka near my cottage outside of Utterson. Life was an adventure for him and he enjoyed all aspects of it. He will be missed by all, but remain in our hearts because of our memories.

Hoss was one of those people who always made you feel like you were the most important personal on earth. Always so interested in what we were up to, what our kids were doing and always so calm and friendly. He was one of a kind. Whether on the ski hill, at the NBCC , the tennis courts or at Tim Hortons, people always gravitated to him. He will be missed by many and touched all of us along the way.
We feel your loss.

Dear Diane & family,
We were very saddened to hear of Hoss' passing. He was a lovely man who we enjoyed seeing every November in Sarasota.
We only recently learned that Hoss' given name was Bijou. The definition of the name Bijou is “jewel” - how fitting! Hoss was a jewel whose sparkling smile reflected a beautiful soul.
RIP dear Bijou!
Sending our heartfelt condolences,

Hoss was a generous and kind man. He was a strong and dedicated leader in his professional career. Janet and I will always remember him for his generous friendship and wonderful sense of humour. Hoss was also an accomplished athlete, and an excellent ball player. He was the visible and athletic leader on the hydro slo-pitch team for many years. Hoss also led the way when it came to his commitment to physical fitness, long before and after it was fashionable. We will miss his wonderful laugh and warm companionship. Our most sincere sympathies to Diane and Marni. He will most certainly be missed by all who knew him.

We were fortunate to have met Hoss and Diane through mutual friends and to have spent some time in his company both off and on his bike. Such a quietly powerful man with a great disposition. I was devastated to hear that Hoss had passed away. He was a kind sweet man devoted to his family, and I admired that in him. Since moving from North Bay, Hoss and Diane have been among the people I have missed the most. Ever a bargain hunter, Hoss could tell you where the best deals on grocery items were to be found each week. Rather than plant a tree I plan on giving Diane money to help with her gardening along the Golden Mile, in memory of her wonderful Hoss.

Very saddened to hear of the passing of uncle Hoss. I will always remember him for his kind and gentle spirit and his natural sense of humor. (He used to call me string bean when I was a skinny little kid and I always got a kick out of it haha).
I also admired the love he and Auntie Diane shared for riding their Harleys and always thought they were the coolest adrenaline junkies.
He had a great energy and will be greatly missed. I know he is riding his Harley up there and catching up with his little brother.
My heartfelt condolences go out to Auntie Diane, Marni and the rest of his immediate family.
Love you all.

I’ve had a pleasure of knowing Hoss for almost 60 years. It began with him being a great role model in the Timmins Area for younger teenagers trying to find their way. It was fun, over the years, seeing Hoss and Diane at Laurentian and Mount Antoine ski Hills. We Also shared a passion for Motorcycles and the travel that came with them.
