Jeffrey Ross Hunter
It is with profound sadness that we share news of the passing of Jeffrey Ross Hunter of natural causes after a long illness in his 60th year. Jeff was born in Temiscaming, Quebec, on October 28, 1964, and passed away in North Bay, Ontario, on November 7, 2024.
Jeff was predeceased by his parents, Arthur (Art) and Jeannine (née Sauvé) Hunter, and is survived by his brothers, Ken (Louise Lacourse) and Russell (Kelly Bond). Jeff is also survived by his nephews Scott Hunter (Tori), Ryan Hunter (Paige), and his niece Hannah Hunter. As well as his grand-nephew Beckett and grand-niece Meredith along with his aunts Gisele Sauvé, Denise Dandy, and Diane Graff (Jim) and numerous cousins.
Jeff was the close friend and companion of Kathy Montreuil for many years and was the loving Grandpa to her grandchildren whom he loved dearly.
Jeff worked at Nipissing University as a member of the caretaking team before being sidelined due to illness for the last few years. He was a Boston Bruins fan and a devoted CFL fan who loved to travel to Toronto and watch his nephew play with the Argos.
A Celebration of Life will be on Sunday, December 8th, at the West Ferris Legion (Lounge) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In memory of Jeffrey and in lieu of flowers, donations to The North Bay Dialysis Unit or the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be greatly appreciated by his friends and family.
