My condolences to Bruce's family. He was a most kind gentleman. We became acquainted at some point during his Whisper on the Wind period. I would be out out on business calls and we often ran into each other. We would sit at a coffee shop, talk business and "stir the pot".

So much fun to be had at the Alkins house on View Street. Bruce and his brothers were always out digging caves, building shelters, looking for adventure. I can still picture him carrying pails of water from our house to Nanny's (his grandma) house across the street. I enjoyed his writings and was so happy he found this calling. Goodbye till we meet again my dear cuz!

There will never be another Uncle Bruce!! He was one of a kind! He was always thinking about others and always trying to help. There was never problem that Bruce wasn't willing to give his opinion, offer a solution or just jump in and lend a hand. It was funny that he always wanted me to have a pocket knife, just in case I needed one! I'm sure he will be looking down on us and making sure that we're okay, like he always did!

I am So So Sorry to hear this very sad news, also wish that I could have been closer to be able to visit more than I did. I have a funny and silly memory, as a little girl, when Aunt Nora came to visit and I would get mad at him because he wanted to play with my dolls. I always had a Special place in my heart for Bruce and still, and always will. Sending my Love and Thoughts to all his family. Sincerely, Peggy Somers
