From my early years as a child growing up living and playing with the Harley family , I can still see Mrs. Harney chasing Sharon around the kitchen with a wooden spoon in one hand and a cigarette in the other. She was fast! However, I mostly remember her as a dear friend to my late mother Edith Nixon. The Harney 6 kids and the Nixon 7 kids would often pack into station wagons and drive to the beach or go blueberry picking. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. My sincere condolences to entire family. I just retired after 50 years of nursing and my last 15 years were as a certified palliative care nurse in the community so if I wasn’t in someone’s home at end of life, I was at one of the hospices in Ottawa. That all to say that I am confident that if your mom was in a hospice that she received exceptional care and had the best death possible.
