Jean-Marc Ranger
Passed away on October 2, 2024, in Mattawa, Ontario. Jean-Marc was the beloved husband of Ruth Ranger (nee VanHorn) for 57 years. He is survived by his children Jason Ranger (Patti), James Ranger (Tammy), and Melody Ogletree (Glenn), as well as his grandchildren Mason (Tamara), Kyra, Tiara (Damian), Brandon (Meaghan), Jack, and Kole, and great-grandsons Jason and Arbor. He is also survived by siblings Armand, Fern, and sister-in-law Rachel.
He joins his parents Raoul and Ella in eternal rest. Jean-Marc was also predeceased by his brother Marcel and his father-in-law Alvin. Jean-Marc had a profound love for his family and was known for his mastery in fishing on the Ottawa River and his passion for his boat which he built himself.
A proud husband, father, and grandfather, Jean-Marc found joy in the companionship of his rescue dog Flaggy, an English Bullterrier. He took immense pride in his childhood home and was a deeply family-oriented and private individual. His love for nature was evident through his deep connection to trees and his kind and gentle soul touched everyone he met.

A Memorial Service honouring Jean-Marc's life will take place at St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 11:00am. Following the service, a private family burial will be held, and a reception to celebrate his life will be hosted at the Mattawa Legion. Jean-Marc will be deeply missed but forever in our hearts.
