Duquette, Hilda Barbara ( nee Condie)

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Hilda Duquette announce her

passing at the Mattawa General Hospital on Sept. 19, 2024 in her 94th year.

Predeceased by her husband Ernest Duquette, son Jerry (late Sue),

grandsons Terry and Darcy Cook, brothers Truman and Clarence (late

Giselle). Loving mother of Emmett (Lynn), Grace, Don, Dale (Wayne),

Fern, Carmen (Karen) and Morris. Proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren

and 15 great grandchildren. Survived by brother Harold and sisters Vernice

(Donat), Meryle (late Alvin) and Gail (late Ed). Greatly loved by many nieces

and nephews.

Mom was a proud lifetime member of the W.I. and enjoyed many outings

with her lady friends. She was an excellent seamstress and known for the

beautiful quilts she created by hand. Her baked beans and homemade

bread were a special treat. Mom was especially thrilled to spend time

travelling with her sisters, brother in law and nieces. She loved telling

everyone that she travelled to Hawaii, Ireland, Paris, London and many

other places.

We wish to express our gratitude to the amazing hospital staff for the

wonderful care Mom received. Special thank you to Dr. Woodcock.

On Oct.3rd 2024 there will be a private family service at 10:30 am at Martyn

Funeral Home 530 McConnell St., Mattawa. Visitation is 11:00 to 1:00. A

light lunch will be served afterwards at Mattawa/Rutherglen United Church (formerly St. Andrew's In The Pines).

In lieu of flowers donations to Mattawa/Rutherglen United Church would be

appreciated.
