Obituary of Dwight Ernest Norman
Norman, Dwight Ernest
It is with profound sadness that the Norman family announce the peaceful passing of Dwight surrounded by his children on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at the North Bay Regional Healthcare Centre.
Born in North Bay, Ontario on July 18, 1945, Dwight was in his 78th year. Predeceased by his loving wife, Sharon Norman (née Lalande). Loving son to Stanley and Evelyn Norman (Predeceased). Wonderful and dedicated father to Jamie (Nicola), Kathleen (Sheldon), Cherity (Ed), and Allison (Matt).
Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Madison, Blake, Ethan, Nolan, Dawson, Hudson, Tegan, Lillian, and Lucas. Dear brother to Barbara (deceased; Guenter), Gerry (Bonnie), Sandra (deceased; Murray), Brenda (deceased: Wayne), Beth (George), and Glenn (Linda). Predeceased by his brother, Ronald and his sisters Joyce (Cathy) and Beverley (Bruce).
Fondly remembered by all of his nieces and nephews, as well as his great nieces and nephews. Cherished friend of René and Shirley Gravelle.
Dwight instilled in his four children the values of hard work, integrity, and the importance of family bonds. Dwight fondly remembered his time in cadet camp as one of the best summers of his life. In his professional life, Dwight made a lasting impact on his coworkers and peers and was a very well-respected member of the Pilot Diamond Tools team.
Dwight had a passion for cars and could often be found in the garage working on his Corvette or racing around town with his friends. His generosity of time knew no bounds, and he truly enjoyed helping others with many different projects. Many weekends were spent enjoying the family cottage with family and friends.
Over the years, Dr. Vigars went above and beyond for our father and we are very grateful to him. Special thanks also goes out to Dr. Wallace for her exceptional care, along with all of the nursing staff at North Bay Regional Healthcare Centre. We would also like to thank all of dad’s PSW’s who were very caring and a great support for the family.
A memorial service to celebrate Dwight’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at The Harbour (30 Lees Rd).
If desired, donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation and The Alzheimer’s Society in Dwight’s honour would be greatly appreciated
