Obituary of Monique Marguerite Bangs
Monique Bangs (nee Ranger) passed away at the Mattawa Hospital on September 5th, 2023 at the age of 63 surrounded by her loving family after a brief but mighty battle with cancer. Survived by the love of her life since the young age of 14 Philip Bangs, and their children Robyn (Mathieu Labonte) and Kurtis (Amber Morrison). Monique’s world revolved around her beloved grandchildren Maxime, Chloe, Lukas & Blake who absolutely adored their Nana. Dearly beloved sister of Alice (Robert Gravelle), Joffre (Madeleine Dumont), Jean—Guy (Rosalind Barnewall), Dave (Michelle Soucy) and Debbie & Claire Ranger. Monique is predeceased by her parents Noella Ranger (nee Therrien) & Guy Ranger, her infant siblings Agnes, Mary, Joseph, Andre as well as Glen Ranger (Corinne) who she considered a brother. She will be fondly remembered by her in-laws (Katherine, Robert, Terry, Stacey, Larry and Paulette), dearest friends Harold & Sylvie Therrien, Francine Brazeau and many nieces, nephews, scrapbooking gals and her hospital family who she worked with for over 35 years.
Monique will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, generosity, caring attitude and willingness to help anyone and everyone around her. During her 38 year career at the Mattawa Hospital, she played a vital role in the organization and operations of the Mattawa Hospital and touched the lives of many along the way. She was happiest when surrounded by her family, watching chick flicks and Christmas movies (at all times of the year) with her devoted hubby of 42 years, playing on the floor with her grandkids, fishing at camp and camping. Her love for her family and grandchildren was easily seen through the many photos, scrapbooks and photo albums that she would happily pull out and show to anyone and everyone and happily relive all the wonderful memories that went along with them.
A funeral mass will be held at Ste. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church on September 16th, 2023 at 11am. Interment will follow for close family, and then a luncheon and celebration of life at the Mike Rodden Arena (upstairs) afterwards. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Mattawa Hospital would be greatly appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy. The Bangs family is most appreciative of the wonderful care and compassion provided to her throughout the last few months from all the nurses and doctors at the Mattawa Hospital.
