Dear family of Ann Porter,
My name is Morgan McLeod and I was the assistant volunteer coordinator at the north bay psychiatric hospital where Ann volunteered. I am so incredibly sorry to hear of her passing. Ann was such a delight and I remember she was always dressed so wonderfully. She was funny, quick witted and so welcoming to all. Her and I spent many memorable times together having coffee and chatting. I visited her numerous times at her then new apartment, which used to be the old Dr. Carruthers School that I used to attend. We discovered that her apartment was my grade 5 classroom. She was truly one of a kind. I hadn’t spoken to Ann in over 10 years as I had moved away. I am so happy to hear that she lived such a long life, with so many people who loved her. She always spoke so highly of her family.

Condolences to all of Mrs. Porter’s family. She was the first person to greet and make me feel welcome at Appletree Suites. She would come and knock on my door and ask me to sit with her either on the front entrance benches or in the courtyard to enjoy the fresh air. She had many stories to share. We shared many laughs. Thoughts and prayers to all.
