In Loving Memory of Valerie Croghan
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Valerie Croghan on Friday, July 28, 2023, at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. She was 74 years old.
Val will be dearly missed by her sons, Kelly (Leashea) and Robby (Amie), life long friend Keith Serson, Granddaughter’s Amanda (Guy) and Aylana (Ryan) and their Mom Patti Serson. Val’s sons were the light of her life and she adored her role as a Gramma.
Val is predeceased by her parents, Dorcas and Milton, sister Nora, brothers Barry, and Jeffrey.
She is survived by her siblings, Milton (Fran), Shelley, Bonnie (late John), and Michael (Rhonda).
Val’s loss will also be deeply felt by her extended family and friends, including her nieces, nephews, and especially her loving friend Rita Kostaras.
Born and raised in North Bay, Val spent most of her career in the service industry. She was a proud business owner where she supported the fire service for more than 25yrs. She made many friends in the fire service, who even after she retired continued to check in and share a laugh or two.
Val had an unwavering love for her family and cherished every moment spent with them, especially during family dances and special occasions.
Val lived life authentically and unapologetically, always embracing everything it had to offer. Her love for rock and roll music was infectious, and she remained young at heart throughout her life. Her vibrant spirit touched the lives of many and left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
In lieu of flowers, Val's family kindly requests donations to be made to Camp Bucko (https://www.campbucko.ca/) or Cystic Fibrosis Canada, causes that were close to her heart.
Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of Val's remarkable life will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends to come together and honour her memory.
