Obituary of Edna May Irwin

Mom passed away peacefully on June 12^th at the age of 95, surrounded by the love of her family, after a long and full life. 

Mom was married for 42 years to Dad (Carr Irwin, predeceased 1995).  Daughter of the late Margaret and Douglas Snyder.  She is survived by her two daughters Carolyn Couchie (George) and Nancy Avery (Dave). Beloved Nana to Sandra Rainville (Pat), Heather Couchie, Rob Couchie (Shawna), Brenda Avery (Josh), Hannah Avery (Alex) and eight great-grandchildren (who always knew Nana had sweet treats waiting just for them).   

She was predeceased by her sister Florence Smith (Bob surviving). “Favourite Aunt” to many nieces and nephews.  Mom started her long career with Widdifield Township and later the City of North Bay.  Mom loved and served the Lord with all her heart and soul. 

Family will receive friends on Friday, June 16^th from 9 am to 11 am followed by a memorial service at 11am at the Martyn Funeral Home, 464 Wyld Street, North Bay. Donations in her memory can be made to Victim Services of Nipissing District, Trauma Dog Program.
