Obituary of Robert Charles Lemke

Robert “Bob” Lemke

The Lemke family sadly announces Bob’s passing on Friday, May 12, 2023, at the Nipissing Serenity Hospice, in his 85^th year.  Bob was the beloved husband of the late Beryl Elizabeth (nee Bedford).  Loving father to Helen Anne Lemke of Mississauga and Karen Lemke of North Bay.  Bob was the son of the late Ruth and Martin Lemke.  Dear brother of Alice Anne LeMay (Paul), David Lemke (Kathy) and Linda MacIver (predeceased) (Murdo).  Fondly remember by Beryl’s sister Helen Slechta (Ron).

Bob worked for over 30 years in insurance, most of the time with Cooperators Insurance.  He was a member of the Canadian Reserves for over 30 years and a member of both the 422 RCAFA (Nipissing) Wing and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 23.  He enjoyed golfing, hunting, skiing and was a member of the ski patrol in North Bay and Mattawa for many years.

There will be a visitation at Martyn Funeral Home on Friday May 26^th from 10 am, followed by a memorial service at 11 am.  A private family interment of Bob’s ashes will take place at All Saint’s Mausoleum. 

Many thanks to all the medical staff and support workers who helped care for Bob in recent months. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory can be made to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice, The North Bay Regional Health Centre, The North Bay Salvation Army, or Emmanuel United Church
