Stanley Barrer

Obituary of Stanley Barrer

With great sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved father, papa , uncle, brother (inlaw) and friend, Stanley Gordon Barrer in his 79th year.

He passed away peacefully on his own terms at home surrounded by loving family on the evening of March 25, 2023. Dad was laughing at hunter and telling us and the doctor what to do right till the end, he sure knew how to make us laugh. I am so thankful I had the honour of him being with us the last few years.

Dad was a great hunter and fisherman in his day but I believe he enjoyed the outings with his friends more than the actual feat itself.

The Barrer household was always filled with visitors and family they opened their hearts to many. They especially enjoyed the annual corn roast and so loved the company and seeing all the kids every year.

Dad shared many stories over the years and we all will cherish those memories.  Dad had a kind and gentle soul and shared his quirky grin with all those he loved. He had a secret passion for writing poems that he kept close to his heart.

Cherished father to Sheril Barrer, Lee Barrer and  David Barrer (Wendy).

Papa to Melissa, Keith, Kyle, Aaron, Kaitlin, Kelsy and Kristopher. Great Papa to Blake, Dante, Kale, Ivy, Jackson. Ezra, Issac, and Hunter.

Will be dearly missed by his siblings Harvey Barrer (Ruth), Linda Similar, Joan Hutchinson and his many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his loving wife Caroline his parents Richard and Hilda Barrer  his siblings Alan Barrer, Thelma Kelly, Barbara Stewart.

Dad will always be a part of us and we will miss him forever.

As per his wishes he will be cremated with a burial and celebration of life to be held in August when he will join his beloved wife Caroline.

Thanks to Dr. Clint Redhead for your kindness and compassion shown to Dad and to Martyn Funeral Home.
