Hunnisett, Carole (nee Degagne)

Joe, Erik and Scott Hunnisett are sad to announce the passing of their loving wife and mother. Born on February 8, 1959, Carole passed away peacefully at home on March 18, 2023. Survived by her husband Joe, sons Erik (Kathi) and Scott (Danielle), and brother Andre Degagne (Stephanie). Also survived by grandchildren Paige, Ridley, Elliot and Eve as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Sister-in-law to Norma (John predeceased), Jim, Mary and Stephanie. Predeceased by her parents Julien and Jeanne Degagne (nee Leclair).

Carole was special. A homemaker and later North Bay realtor, whose family (including multiple dogs and cats) were most important to her. She was always the core of the family, but her strength and courage over these past 26 months has been truly remarkable. One last lesson in life that Joe, Erik, Scott and Andre will never forget.

Thank you to all the medical professionals in Ottawa and North Bay/Callander who cared for Carole, particularly the VON nurses (special thanks to Natalie) who were such great help to Carole in her final days and weeks at home in Callander.

Friends may call at Martyn Funeral Home on Thursday, March 23rd from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Carole’s life will be planned at a later date at the family home on the lake in Callander. In lieu of flowers, a donation to The Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada or All Heart Pet Rescue would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
