Dear Shaelah & Brent,
We are sad to learn of Wendy's passing. Our heartfelt condolences to you and your families. It was by chance that we were checking the obituaries in North Bay and came across hers. We have not lived in North Bay since 2008.
Our favorite memory of Wendy was during our trip in 1984 to Midland to sing in the huge choir for Pope Jean Paul II. We had slept on cots in the main part of a host church overnight. There was limited space to put cots in the church so Gord and I set up our cots in the confessional room. Wendy could not fit her cot in with ours so set up in the adjacent dressing room. At 3:30 a.m. we were awakened by a firm knock on the adjoining door. I opened it to be greeted by Wendy, bouncing from one foot to the other, with a beautiful big smile on her face announcing that she could not sleep and was already dressed and set to get going! She was so excited that she had overlooked the fact that her rollers were still in her hair! We all laughed so much that we woke up the whole choir. Now Wendy is singing with the angels and God willing, we will join her there one day to sing His praises.
God Bless you and your families in this time of sorrow.
