Christine Ann Hunter (nee Shadbolt)

1966 - 2022

Surrounded by the presence and love of her family, Christine died peacefully on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at the age of 56. Beloved wife of David and proud mother of Benjamin, of North Bay, Ontario. Cherished daughter of Reginald and Audrey Shadbolt of Kingston, Ontario. Loving and adored sister of Katherine Shadbolt Parker (Shane) of Ottawa, Ontario. Graduate of Trent University and Queen’s University. Christine was an elementary school teacher in the North York Board of Education, Nipissing Board of Education and the Near North District School Board until her retirement in 2020. She will be remembered as a generous, kind and dedicated educator who loved working with children. Christine’s positive, beautiful spirit touched so many people who are grateful for having known her. This world has just lost the most beautiful person. In keeping with Christine’s wishes, a private ceremony and interment will be held at the Cataraqui Cemetery in Kingston, Ontario. A public Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in North Bay. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff of the North Bay Regional Health Centre and the Northeast Cancer Centre in Sudbury, Ontario for their outstanding care and compassion, especially Dr. Vigars, Dr. Malone, Dr. O’Grady, and Dr. Dmytrash. We are also thankful to the North Bay Regional Hospital paramedics and the North Bay Fire Department.
