To the whole Inglis family!! Bev, you’ve lost “the love of your life”, and for that, our most heartfelt sympathies….Chris, Kim and families…you’ve lost a wonderful father, a father in law, and a ‘Poppa”. Bob was truly “one of a kind”! We have so many fond, and FUN memories of our times together over the last 40 years! Too many to recount here! Ebe and i are so thankful we were able to see Bob right before his surgery, and a few times thereafter….he never lost his personality until the very end.
On behalf of the entire Scherkus family, our deepest condolences for your loss…let’s just imagine Bob terrorizing everyone up in Heaven, while he jives away to the Beach Boys!! See you on the flip side, Bob! Love, Ebe and Linda, Carrie and Max, Adam, and Salima, Andrew and Anne. RIP xxx

Auntie Bev, Kim, Chris and families
As you continue to experience the grief of Uncle Bob’s passing, may you find some comfort knowing that we are thinking of you and sending you all our love.
I have so many memories of Uncle Bob! Despite our geographic distance, it is amazing how many times we got to see Uncle Bob — whether a visit home to visit his mom in PlP, a family occasion like weddings, or a summer vacation to the cottage in Lac du Bonnet, we feel so grateful for all the quality time we got to spend with Uncle Bob over the years.
Among the many wonderful memories, I recall visiting Scott in Bisset, MB when he and Uncle Bob worked
together at the mine. While Scott was working underground, Uncle Bob kindly took me on a tour of the mine, helped me learn about the work being done out there, and made sure that I was safe (and fed!) throughout my visit on-site. I enjoyed the chance to get to know Uncle Bob during this trip and I learned so much about him and his love for his family.
Of course, I also have a lifetime of memories from all of our time spent together from the many trips Uncle Bob made to Winnipeg over the years. And this is what struck me the most about Uncle Bob and the whole Inglis family: Family is first. And I believe that the legacy of this will continue. Because I see it in all of you. In the good times and in the tough times, Uncle Bob always showed up. And he showed up in a big way — his support, his hugs, his humour, his advocacy, his mere presence — he was always there.
And what would a message about Uncle Bob be if I didn’t mention his love for his hot dogs at Nick’s Inn?! What fond memories I have of going there with him or hearing about his latest visit to the restaurant for his two-hotdog-order where he’d order one and then proceed to order the second when the first one was served so as to ensure the exact-right freshness on both of them!
I could fill a novel with all of the stories and memories that I have. And I will look forward to our future visits together as we continue to honour Uncle Bob’s life and the impact he has on us all.
I know that you will continue to show up for each other in the coming days, weeks, months and years. Because that’s what your family does. May you also find comfort knowing that we are holding you very close in our hearts during this difficult time. Now and always.
Much love to you,
XOXO
Nancy

Brother Bob and I were both adopted (originally maritimers) and had very loving parents who guided us well during our growing years in Portage la Prairie Manitoba.
Bob and I were both so lucky to find such great soul mates as spouses. In a way unfortunately as while my husband Bob and I moved west, Bob and Bev moved east, so we very seldom saw each other or each other's families over the years.
These past couple of years have been very tough on you Bev, Kim and Chris (and kids) but we can see the wonderful strong inner family support you have, plus the super and lasting friendships you Bev, and Bob have generated that will keep your family strong moving forward.
Kimberley, we often drink from the embossed wine glasses you and Stephen gave at your wedding July 17th, 2004 - great memory and memento.
Much Love
Jean and Bob Hempstock and family
