Obituary of Jacqueline Simpson

Please share a memory of Jacqueline to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Jacqueline Marie Therese Beaupre Simpson loving mother and grandmother passed away just before her 83rd birthday on May 27, 2022.

Jackie was born in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec June 25, 1939 to her parents Antoine Beaupre and Amanda Talbot, where she lived with her older sister Huguette.

When Jackie was 12 her parents passed away, and she spent a year at the orphanage in Rimouski with her older sister Huguette, before moving to Blind River to live with her Aunt Yvonne, her uncle André Lemay and their two children, Michel and Christine. Jackie was initially homeschooled by her mom who was a school teacher and later attended elementary school in Rimouski, Québec then high school in Blind River, Ontario to then spend her final year of high school at Loretta Abbey Catholic Secondary School in Toronto.

Jackie went on to get her degree from Nipissing University and started teaching at Canadore College.

She then met and married the love of her life, Robert (Bert) Simpson in North Bay Ontario.

They traveled extensively from Japan to England among many other places working together.

They shared a beautiful life living on Lake Nipissing and enjoying their cottage on Sandy Island in the summers with all of their family, including their beloved German Shepard, Gypsy, and were loved by many.

Jackie was a wonderful person, who was always there when you needed her.

She loved helping her community by volunteering at the Family Center for Community Living Organization, working with the children, as well as working with the Shriners Club in North Bay.

Jackie's apple pies were a legend among the family, as well as her cooking skills.

She was a woman of many talents, including photography, knitting, horse riding, and co-piloting her and Bert’s plane. Anything she set her mind to she could accomplish. She was always a very organized and refined lady.

Jackie is survived by her daughters, Lori and her husband Michael Prior, Barbi and husband Terry Turl, Shelli and her fiance James Sayer and her grandchildren, Abbie, Megan, Taylor, Shea, Shannon and Robert. Last year Jackie became a Great Grandmother to little baby Aspen!  She is also survived by her cousins Michel Lemay and his wife Paulette, Christine Lemay Filion and her husband Ivan, her niece and Goddaughter Christine Vaillancourt, nephew Pierre Vaillancourt, her Goddaughter Veronica Mulligan and her Godson Kirkland Mainer.

The way Jackie loved gave you strength,

Her presence alone brought out the best in you.

She truly lived life to its fullest and left her mark on our hearts forever.
