So very sorry to hear of Mary's passing into spirit ... my condolences especially to immediate family and her many friends. As members of North Bay Presbytery of the UCC, Mary & I first worked together on child poverty initiatives where she brought considerable understanding and compassion from her years as a teacher and parent. Over the ensuing 20 years of contact during book studies and committee meetings, I valued Mary's ability to "cut to the heart" of a matter, to ask tough questions and to laugh with ease! I am so sorry I won't have the chance to visit with her again in person, or to enjoy her beautiful garden. May she and all of you who are most deeply impacted by her passing be blessed with a deep and lasting peace...

Margaret, Susan, Kim and Sandy and other family members.
My condolences on the sudden loss of your daughter, mother and sister. She was a great lady with such a memorable laugh. I remember when she taught school. We hung out at Ball field with some of the other ladies for the Tournaments I caught up to her a few years ago. It was nice chatting with her and her following me on Facebook. She was a fabulous lady and leaves an amazing legacy..

My condolences to Sandy, Kim, and family. I was very sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I always enjoyed her from having her as a supply teacher in public school, hearing Mary's beautiful voice especially Christmas carols, to saying hello when she was visiting at my mom's. She was very positive and always with a smile! She will be missed.

I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to Mary's family, I am very sorry for your loss. I remember Mary fondly from my time living in North Bay (1988--2004) and while serving Knox-Nipissing United Church and Restoule United Church as a candidate for ministry in The United Church of Canada. I also connected with Mary later on at Emmanuel United Church when I visited North Bay. May God be your comfort and your strength as you mourn her passing.

Condolences to the family. It was so nice to have known Mary over the past few years.
We so enjoyed coffee time in the afternoon either in the house or sitting on the deck and trying all the different muffins mom would make or that you would bring to coffee time. We will miss Mary very much❤️

Kim and Sandy, deepest condolences from Anne and Richard Smith on the passing of your mother. Our memories of Mary are centered around her involvement as a passionate and dedicated member of Knox United Church in Callander. She was fiercely loyal to her local congregation and was a woman for whom faith in Christ was very important. She believed in speaking truth as she understood it and was not shy about expressing her views to people in authority. She is remembered as a lively participant in Bible study discussions and had a deep love for singing in choirs. Her passion for justice and mission led her to an active role in North Bay Presbytery as well. Her heartfelt concern for her family was evident to those who knew her. “Now we see as in a mirror dimly, but then face to face, to know fully as we have been fully known.” May you be comforted in the confidence that your Mom is now embraced by the eternal and unconditional Love of which she spoke and sang for many years. She will undoubtedly be missed. Blessings to you both in your bereavement.

Kim and Sandy and family, I was so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. She was always so busy and interested in things around her; she will be missed by everyone who knew her. I always enjoyed seeing her at M.T.Davidson when she would come in to supply teach. I hope that you both have many beautiful memories of your mom that will bring you comfort at this difficult time.

When Knox closed, Mary drove a group of friends to Emmanuel faithfully. She pitched into activities such as Bible study, choir, church suppers and more. She continued to attend through the pandemic so we could watch her music ministry on live stream. She will be missed. Ruth Trottier

Sending love and peace to Mary’s family. I’ve known Mary since I was a child. I attended Knox with my family and sung in the choir sitting in front of Mary. Mary was never one to mince words and I always admired her honesty. She loved fiercely and whenever I returned home to Knox, she reminded me that I was known and valued. May she Rest In Peace surrounded by beautiful flowers. Erin Brophey (Saskatoon)

Mary was a kind and dear soul. As a kid growing up in Callander we were all family and Mary was one of the best. Shortly after we lost one of our own, Mary dropped by the house to drop off some ball pictures for dad. I’ll never forget it! Her kind words and sincere care for us at a time of hurt will always be remembered. My heartfelt condolences to Kim and Sandy.

To Kim, Sandra, Jason, and Conner and the beautiful Margaret, to say we were shocked to hear of the passing of Mary is a true understatement. Her passing will leave a very large hole for many people. She had so many interests and even more friends. I shall miss talking to her for an hour and a half on the phone and seeing her at knitting group. I, of course, met her at the garden centre and she welcomed me to the knitting group at the library many years ago now. I send you my love and condolences in this most terrible time. Denise Turcotte
