Obituary of Marie Blanche Colette Emond
Colette Emond (née Morel)
Passed away peacefully December 25, 2021, at the Algonquin Nursing Home, she was in her 98th year. She was a lifelong teacher who left an impression on her many students all the while raising her own children. A lover of history, geography and sports of all kind, as well as an excellent cook, she instilled the love of travelling, sports, reading and cooking in all of her children.
Beloved wife of the late Bernard Emond. Cherished mother of 11 children Jacques (Huguette), Claude (Frances), Louise (Bill), Énide, Robert (Carolyn), Marc (Ann-Marie), Daniel, Michèle (David), Madeleine (Mark) Adèle (Roger) and Pierre (Katherine). Proud grand-maman of 13 grand-children Louis-Gabriel (Madison), Marie-Claire (Guillaume), Paul (Riley), François (Joëlle), Renée (Matt), David, Natalie, Alexandre (Melissa), Patrick (Genna), Daniel (Claudia), Josée (Julian), Louis-Philippe (Michelle), Dominique (Santino) and grand-grand-maman to 13 great-grand-children, Samuel, George, Victor, Jasmine, Léonard, Torryn, Jakob, Gabriel, Priscilla, Illyssa, Joël, Joey, and Loïc.
Sadly missed by her siblings Jacqueline, Suzanne (Kip) and Robert (Rolande), her sisters-in-law Lauretta, Marion, Lili and brother-in-law Gerald (Jackie). Colette is predeceased by her parents Hector & Simonne Morel and siblings Marie, Madeleine, Lorette, Paul, Raymond, Wilfrid and Jacques.
Respecting Colette’s wishes there will be no visitation, cremation will take place and a Memorial Service will be held at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Mattawa in the spring of 2022.
