Please accept my deepest condolences.
I have such happy memories of my time with Mr. and Mrs. Bradford and Trisha in Pathfinders. We did and learned so much in this group, including planning, fundraising, and going on a trip to England. One of my favourite memories was in the early 90s when we went camping to complete our badge. The planned activity on our schedule that day was fishing, and he happily joined our group to the nearby lake. None of us kids really had any clue what we were doing, and certainly did not think that catching a fish was even possible or what we would do with it. Well, of course, one of us did catch a tiny perch! It was so exciting and we were cheering, laughing, and crying all at the same time. Mr. Bradford showed us what to do to release the fish, and then we continued fishing, and caught the same fish again! It was one of those moments I’ll never forget and it was all possible because of Trisha and her lovely parents who gave so much of their time and energy in to ‘guiding’ us teenage girls. He rolled with all the drama with patience and compassion, and taught us some very important life skills, all while having fun.
I can hear Mr. Bradford singing the Whooping Cough Blue Jay song around the campfire at night. Thank you, Mr. Bradford, for being such a positive influence to me and Trisha’s Pathfinders.
